Adjutant's Corner

The 6th District Midwinter Conference will be held Saturday Feb. 7, 2026 at Pequot Lakes Post 49. All 6th District Posts should have representation at this event. All members are welcome to attend to learn more about our programs and events and to share information and experiences. This event is a great opportunity to learn how to get more involved and meet your District, Department and National officers.

Department mailings to watch for in February; Legionvill0e Reservation, Boys State Reservation, Blood Report Forms and Continuous Year Certificates. The Eagle Scout of the Year Applications will be due to District Scouting Chairman by the middle of February. The 6th District Scouting Chairman is Wade Bastian, e-mail wade.bastian@scouting.org. Annual Post Data Reports will be mailed to Post Adjutants starting in February and will be due to Department no later than Apr. 15, 2026.

Reminder – The Minnesota American Legion Family Hospital Association is funded by donations and 25 cents from Minnesota Legion, Auxiliary and SAL membership dues. All Minnesota American Legion Family members are eligible provided they have been a member in good standing for 36 months prior to applications for assistance. Financial aid is available for payment of medical bills up to $4,000.00 for qualified claims. Contact your Post or County Service Officer for assistance. Information and forms are available on mnlegion.org. The Minnesota Veterans Assistance Fund (Fund 85) is another source for veteran’s immediate assistance. The forms are available on mnlegion.org and should be initiated at the Post level.
