Auxiliary President

Wendy Grittner

Wendy qualifies to be in the American Legion Auxiliary from two points. Her father was a 23-year Navy veteran, and her husband is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Wendy and her husband Frank have a blended family of six children. Their youngest son is also a member of the Sons of the American Legion. Wendy and Frank are serving together as the Minnesota 6th District AL Auxiliary President and The American Legion Commander.

Wendy has been a member of the Zimmerman AL Auxiliary Unit 560 for 23 Years. She volunteered many hours at Kriesel-Jacobsen Post 560. She worked for Post 560 for
over 20 years starting as a bartender and ending as bartender and assistant bar manager. She also filled in with charitable gambling where needed.

While she was attending various meetings, conferences, and conventions with her husband, the 6th District AL Auxiliary leadership noticed her enthusiasm and passion for the programs and mission of the AL Auxiliary and asked her to become part of the 6th District leadership. She spent several years in different committee chairs, and three years ago was asked to be the 6th District AL Second Vice-President. The following year she was First Vice-President and Membership Chair. In that year the 6th District ALA led the way in the Department of Minnesota the entire membership year under her guidance.

Wendy believes it is a great honor to serve in her current role, and to promote service to our veterans, youth, and communities through the mission and programs of the
American Legion Auxiliary.
